I’ve been noticing something on KDE 6.3.5 with Firefox 139 that after a while the ‘x’ widget on the tabs stops working (x click is ignored). When this happens, another thing that stops working is the that the Search tool can’t be selected by mouse click. So in this situation I close the tabs via the “close” menu item on the tab. Search can only be reached by cycling the browser via the tab key. Before I write a ticket I’m wondering if this is happening to more people.
I’ve already commented in on bug: 2366717 – Firefox address bar becomes unclickable after a while
which seems a bit different. The original bug there is the address bar freezing.
This does not appear to be KDE related.
The relevant FF bug is accurate, or close enough. The tabs do stop closing, and sometimes the bar is unresponsive, and it seems to affect both Windows and Linux, thoughg maybe differently.
There are others, though they all appear to be marked as dupes of this one.
Sometimes my tabs just don’t close as the only issue, and other times the bar is unresponsive as well.
I have not tried any nightly builds to see if the fixes work, but simply dragging a tab, even partially, cures it, until the next time.
